Effect on adding or withdrawing pool partners in an operation

A pool operator may often want to analyse the effect of adding new pool partners. Route 99 will quickly be able to calculate such effects

Illustrative: Pool of 20 LPG carriers 4,000/6,000 cubm

Fleet

Fleet TC result

p.a.

20 existing vessels

100 mill USD

Add 4 new vessels from potential pool partner

120 mill USD

By using Route99 for such analysis, the operator will see the net effect of adding four vessels. Route99 will show specifically the optimal employment of these ships and what consequence this has on the employment of the existing vessels.

By studying what trade route the new ships are allocated to and what change in trade routes will take place for the existing fleet, the operator can get a better idea of the marginal effect of adding vessels to the pool. Quite often the marginal effect is less than what may intuitively be anticipated.
