The NMS voyage estimator is developed for
ultimate speed and usefulness for chartering and operations.
The purpose is to calculate time charter
equivalents (TCE) for a vessel in order to identify what employments gives
the best result.
One click at a ship and another click at
the cargo gives an instant voyage estimate where all factors are taken
into consideration such as:
A range of reports are available to show
the user consequences of scheduling ships on different cargoes.
Main results are presented on a single
screen and additional details can be retrieved on demand. For many
calculations the following key results are prime focus:
Minimize button clicks:
Only three clicks to make a voyage estimate.
When the voyage estimator opens,:
1.
the user selects a vessel from a list of ships
2.
Clicks on the cargo to be calculated from a list of cargoes
3.
Push "Calculate"
Voyage Calculation Philospohy
Ship parameters
Selecting a ship automatically retrieves all relevant data for the vessel.
This includes the trivial info such as dwt, ,speed and fuel consumption,
cubic capacity or any other cargo intake information, draft, TPC etc
Cargo data
For
the cargoes are given min/max cargo intake, draft restrictions, vetting
restrictions or any other constraints. Such constraints will automatically
be checked against the vessel's specifications. If the cargo can not fit
on the selected vessel, R99 will give a message about the constraints.
Since the estimator always works with date and time, all calculations show
the ETAs for arrival an departure in the ports included in the
calculation.
The
cargoes will often contain info about laydays and the program
automatically checks if a ships arrives within the laydays cancelling. If
not, the user will be able to accept waiting days for the opening date or
the user will accept a late arrival for closing laydays.
In
this way, R99 has built in as many check points as possible in order to
automate as much of the calculation process as possible.
Distances
All
distances between ports are automatically calculated based on the R99
internal distance table.
Sensitivity
TCE
versus freight rate is often necessary when negotiating a cargo
R99
allows three modes of an voyage estimate:
Find the best ship for a particular cargo
In
order to save time for the user, R99 has a special feature whereby the
user can say "Show me the best vessel for this particular cargo". At a
push of a single button, R99 will scan through all open ships that the
user has on his system and calculate the TCE and nr of days and check
which ships can match laydays. This function alone, will save the user a
considerable amount of time in his calculation. It will also allow him to
present the results in a fast and easy mode.
